The CREATE, from theory to practical application
The purpose of work carried out at the Centre de recherche en économie de l’Environnement, de l’Agroalimentaire, des Transports et de l’Énergie (CREATE) is to contribute to the development and application of theoretical and empirical knowledge in:
- Environment economics
- Natural resources economics
- Energy economics
- Agri-food economics
- Transportation economics
and to the development of methodologies relevant to the above fields.
The CRÉA, the GREEN and the CDAT grouped together in the spring of 2011 to submit an application to Université Laval’s Research Committee for the official recognition of CREATE as a centre. The Committee assessment took place in May 2011 and an official response of the University Council was received in October 2011.
The CREATE consists of three research axes:
- The CRÉA (Agri-food)
- The GREEN (Environment and Energy)
- The CDAT (Transportation)
Since the CRÉA, the GREEN and the CDAT each have a rich history, it was decided to name the axes after the names of these organizations, merged to form the CREATE, in order to capitalize on the excellent reputation of each in their respective fields.
